Last Chance for 2007 Prices: Book Now to Save $500

We’ve been meaning to announce this for a while, but we’ve been busy doing all that “offline” stuff that comes with the start of the high tourist season here in Pattaya (Has it really been a month since the last blog post????).

January 1 is always a big day in the PADI universe. It’s the day when, seemingly every year, increases in books, certification and testing fees kick in. Last year saw a 35% increase in the price of Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver books. This year, to combat the weakening dollar, our Instructor Exam fees are being changed from U.S. currency to Australian, and with it, a price increase.

So, take this as your official warning that if you are thinking of booking an Aquanauts Diving Instructor or Divemaster Internship, now is the time. On Jan. 1, prices will increase by US$500.

However, if you book before the 31st of this month with the minimum 40% depost, you’ll get the current 2007 price — no matter when you start your internship next year. Newly minted instructor Catherine Glashier (whose IDC and IE pictures will be up here in a couple days) along with two other current interns did this last year and ended up saving nearly $800 over what it would have been had they paid when they actually showed up late this year.
