PADI Specialty of the Month for September: National Geographic Diver 10% Off at Aquanauts Dive Centre Thailand

PADI’s Specialty of the Month for September truly is a special one this time. Unlike previous months, when courses such as Deep Diver or Wreck Diver were available at any PADI center, this month’s spotlight course is the PADI National Geographic Diver specialty course, which his only available at select PADI National Geographic Dive Centers.

In Thailand, there are only seven of these National Geographic centers and, in fact, few of those centers are actively promoting and teaching the course. That’s a shame. The PADI National Geographic program is a great way to improve your diving skills and knowledge.

The one-day course teaches divers to hover motionlessly in three positions (horizontal, horizontal with head elevated and horizontal with feet elevated) so the diver can observe the marine life without touching it or the coral. The diver then can choose between a navigation dive, using compass and natural navigation, or a marine life identification dive where the student must identify, by name, two plants, four invertebrate animals and five vertebrate animals. The course is rounded out with the National Geographic Almanac and DVD, plus the diver will receive a special certification card.

While certified divers can take the specialty as a standalone course, new divers can take the PADI National Geographic Open Water Diver course, which combines the standard beginning diving course with the NatGeo course. This course can also be started via PADI eLearning through the Aquanauts website.

Finally, at Aquanauts, Open Water divers can take an exclusive National Geographic Advanced Open Water Diver course, which offers the Advanced Open Water and NatGeo courses together over three days for a discounted price.

So why wait? Learn to dive National Geographic Style in September at Aquanauts!
