Three New Interns Join Aquanauts CDC Pattaya at Dive 2008 Show

Course Director Roger M. Smith and new intern Becky Maxwell

Aquanauts Dive Centre enjoyed another successful trip to England for this year’s Dive 2008 show at the NEC Birmingham, signing three new interns to join Pattaya, Thailand’s only British-owned PADI 5-Star Career Development Center.

This was the third consecutive year Aquanauts exhibited at the U.K.’s largest dive show and saw a large number of new and old faces alike. Nearly a dozen former interns joined Course Director Roger M. Smith and Internship Director Bob James on Saturday and Sunday, offering their recommendations to choose Aquanauts to prospective interns visiting the Aquanauts booth.

Several interns who visited booths of other internship programs around the world, liked what they heard about Aquanauts’ program so much, they signed up to join us.

18-year-old Becky Maxwell and her family attended Dive 2008 on Sunday. Becky’s mother had talked with James via Aquanuats free telephone numbers several weeks ago, asking the questions mosthers want to know about sending their young daughters off to Thaialnd alone. Once they met James and Smith in person, they made the decision that Aquanauts was the right internship program for her.
Already an Open Water Diver, Becky opted for both the Open Water Scuba Instructor and the Master Scuba Diver Trainer upgrade that will have her training in Pattaya for six months.
Nigel Robinson, 39, had been looking Thaialnd internship programs for a while and had spoken to Aquanauts’ before he came to the show on Saturday a final checkup. He was eager to begin and will arrive in Thailand today. An Advanced Open Water Diver, Robinson will take his instructor exam in March.

And Mike Holder, a 43-year-old builder, also made the decision to change his life and become a PADI instructor. He and his girlfriend will be coming to Pattaya later this month and staying at Aquanauts upgraded luxury accommodations. Like Robinson, he’ll be with Aquanauts for four months and will likely take his instructor exam in April.

Thank you to Mike, Nigel and Becky for choosing Aquanauts and also a big thank you to everyone who visited the Aquanauts booth over the two days. Finally, thanks and good luck to all of the former Aquanauts interns who visited the booth during the show.
See you in Birmingham next year!
